Amazing experience! Our tour guide, Bill, made the experience truly exceptional. He was a very captivating speaker and brought history to life.
Very fun time at this historic site. This will be an unforgettable visit!
Beautiful place to get a walk in. Lots of different types of plants to enjoy if you're into herbology and birds if you're a bird watcher. I made the cost free, but do consider becoming a member if you walk here frequently. Your money goes into the upkeep of this gorgeous place.
Loved this place... took me back to my old Daniel "Fess Parker" Boone days! 🥰 They even had the GI Joe size action figure that I used to play with as a young boy! 🧒🏼 The grounds are beautiful, well maintained and the staff were friendly and informative! 😉👌🏻
This was a really nice place to learn and take a stroll. Even though they were “closed” the park is still open for you to walk and see the buildings. Pamphlets at the VC have the building info. Very nice and suggest to others!
We recently visited here. It was very interesting and a beautiful property to walk through. They had demonstrations of candle making, quilting, a sawmill and other things.
I came here on a Monday and the visitor center wasn't open so I took a map and the map was a waste. Daniel boone house is behind the visitors center with no number and the only way I knew it was his house was because when I went to the second floor they had signage but they seem to only have road signs for the picnic areas and visitor center not the houses . The mini waterfall was very cool otherwise and if you are into trails it's great for that
Great preservation of historic buildings and homestead. Nature is prominent with walking trails. Worth a visit and stroll around the grounds. Small fee to visit the buildings when the visitor center is open. Strolling walking trails is free but it's a worthwhile cause to support with donations.
I visited the historic Daniel Boone Homestead for the first time on Saturday October 26, 2019. I recently purchased a new lens for my camera and I wanted to break it in so I chose this location to give it a try. I was not disappointed in what I saw. My first stop was the red building which is the visitors center. I paid for the self-guided tour and I received a map. Before going off on my journey I viewed a brief video about the site and its namesake. There is a gift shop inside the visitors center. I was facinated by the colorful early American buildings. Unfortunately there was no real fall colors because of the many pine trees on the property. The trails are stone covered which can be a little difficult to walk on but at least the trails are not muddy. Be sure to check out the dam and the very muddy lake behind it, plus the grave site nearby. What was most enjoyable about my visit was how quiet and peaceful the homestead grounds were. The only noise I heard was an occasional airplane, a few birds, and the waterfalls. What an enjoyable afternoon it was at my visit to the Daniel Boone Homestead in Berks County Pennsylvania.
